HIYOSHI SHISYA, a shisha cafe in Hiyoshi, Yokohama, won the Good Design Award 2025 in the Unit 16 - Interior Space category. This award was made possible thanks to the cooperation of all involved. We would like to express our sincere gratitude. Our company, MiKS, was responsible for developing the brand concept, logo, VI, and even the signage design for the space. ArchTank, which also includes our CEO, Yoshizaki, was responsible for the space design, resulting in a collaborative project in which the space and brand design blend together. This flexible idea captures the ventilation and fire-resistant finishes required for a shisha cafe and transforms them into a cave-like design. The poetic emphasis on the floating smoke through lighting effects is remarkable. The creative use of marginal conditions, such as creating different views and sense of distance for each seat, giving visitors an exploratory experience, is also highly praised.
