Toward business cards that exude a unique identity. Headquartered in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Komatsu Wall IT Co., Ltd. has brought richness and functionality to office and shared spaces, primarily through its partition business. In May 2025, the company launched "_ing.", an art office project that reframes the relationship between art and space. By incorporating art into office spaces, the project aims to stimulate employee creativity and invigorate corporate culture. The company hopes to see concrete results from the power of art in space, such as increased visitor numbers and a positive impact on recruitment activities. The launch of "_ing." marks a phase in which Komatsu Wall IT reexamines the very essence of its business operations. To coincide with this new stage, a complete business card renewal project has begun. Rather than simply a means of communication, we rethink "who the company is, where it's headed, and how it communicates." --Transforming business cards from the "face of the company" to the "starting point for encounters." The project began with a workshop in which employees delved deeply into what they wanted to include in their business cards and what impression they wanted to convey. The workshops were held three times, beginning in February 2025, and involved everyone working together to reconstruct the "image of the company as seen through the business cards," verbalizing their impressions of the current business cards, how they were used in sales, and any discrepancies with the company's philosophy and current art graphics. During the workshops, employees had several opportunities to present their ideas to the president, further enhancing their understanding. The front of the business cards graphically displays company information that embodies the "integrity" the company has built over its 50-year history, while the back, symbolizing its "challenge" through its art project "_ing.", creates a dual-faceted design. This design conveys both Komatsu Wall IT's "spatial expertise" and "border-crossing approach to art." In response to requests to express a greater sense of integrity depending on each employee's position, a simple white version was also available, allowing for flexibility in individual design. Although we are a company that deals with physical objects such as partitions, we aim to carefully convey the ideas, spatiality, and challenge inherent in them. Sharing the president's thoughts with each employee, the initiative has led to a redefinition of business cards as "media that reflects attitudes" rather than simply printed materials. We hope to continue to express the "identity" of Komatsu Wall IT through various touchpoints, including through _ing. activities.
