I was in charge of developing the concept, including the leaflet design, for Chisato Okubo (sen), an accessory maker who creates tatting lace using thread. I organized the information on her works, which are like crystallizations of thread and feature motifs of plants and landscapes, like a botanical specimen. The concept is as follows: When you see, touch, and wear her works, - You suddenly feel more confident. - You feel a little more courageous. - You feel happy even on an ordinary day. I create works using thread with the hope of conveying these "small warmths" from everyday life. My motifs are wildflowers, alpine plants, and beautiful landscapes that remain in my heart. Real plants have the strength and beauty of growing freely in nature. This is why I don't see much point in recreating them exactly with thread. What I value most is "preserving the essence of thread." I layer the emotions I feel when I come into contact with memorable landscapes into my works, including the softness, unevenness, and unreliability of the thread material. I would be happy if I could be a close ally who gently supports someone in their daily life.
